See your monthly solar loan payment, what it costs in total interest, how a hidden dealer fee changes the picture, and whether the payment comes in under your current power bill.

Many solar loans quote a low "APR" that only holds if you apply the federal tax credit as a lump-sum principal reduction in the first 12–18 months. This tool shows the payment before and after that re-amortization.

Loan vs. cash

Cash has the lowest total cost and the best ROI. A loan spreads the cost so the payment can be lower than your old electric bill from day one, but you pay interest, and dealer-fee loans bake 15–30% into the price to fund the low rate. If you can pay cash or use a low-rate HELOC, that usually beats a dealer loan. Compare the all-in cash price against the total of loan payments, not just the monthly number.
